How to Create Counter Strike Source dedicated server on Windows Vista or XP

What do you need ?

1 GB of free space on disk.
Recomanded OS: XP Service Pack 2 (but it runs just fine on Vista too)
1 GB of RAM Memory

1. Create a folder named SRCDS anywhere you pleased
2. Download CS Source Server Creator
3. Click on the CS-Source-Server-Creator.exe and choose SRCDS for installation
4. you will see command prompter black window , Just wait until the installer downloads the server . After finished download the file the black window will be gone.

Attention : Some antivirus softwares will get a false virus detection when you run the installer. Don`t worry ! The installer is 100 % safe ! It is just HLDS Update Tool , a little bit simplified for you not to complicate yourselves with command lines.

How to configure the server

Go to folder Go to SRCDS\cstrike\cfg , check if you have there a file named server.cfg
If it is not there, create it with Notepad or Wordpad and save it with cfg extension. Then open it and copy this:

Change the Server Name and RCON password as you like.
If you want to enable bots, set the bot quota in this line: bot_quota 0 (put the number here).

Opening the server

There is only one way to open the server so pay attention !

Go to SRCDS directory an look for srcds.exe. Right click on it and select "Create Shortcut" or “Send to -> Desktop” (if you want a shortcut on your Desktop) .
Right click thr shortcut and select "Proprieties".
In the Target field leave a space after the last character and copy this:

-console -game cstrike -secure +maxplayers 22 +map de_dust2

You can costumize it :
"-console" – is for the ingame console (the one that opens with `)
"-game cstrike" – is for the counter strike game
"-secure" – is for your VAC anti cheat. If you want it disabled just type insecure instead of secure
"+maxplayers 22 – is the maximal number of slots on your server (you can change it)
"+map de_dust2 - the starting map (you can olso change it)

Patching the server

If you want your server to be Steam Only, skip this step !
But if you want it to accept non steam users, download this patch, unzipp it and copy the following files to SRCDS directory:

-rev.ini and

-Steam.dll

Don`t copy the other files from archive, just these two !

Now you have a Counter Strike Source dedicated server that accepts Steam and Non Steam users.

Now we will make sure that you can administrate your server.
In order to do this you will have to install Source Metamod and Sourcemod or Mani Admin Plugin.

Looks like that bulky Guitar Hero World Tour drumset might be getting itself an extreme makeover in time for the launch of Guitar Hero 5. According to our source, the blurred render above is the newest plastic percussion peripheral, and while functionality remains the same, it's moved the control console to the forefront, given the cymbals a more well-rounded existence, and done away with some of that body, particularly on the top and on the stand -- all in a all, a much more Rock Band look, if we do say so ourselves.


The back of the unit contains three mini ports -- two for kick pedals, and one ever mysterious black mini jack. Yeah, Rock Band's drums have that mysterious unused port, too, and who knows what nefarious needs either will serve. What's suspicious is that it's two months before GH5's release and we still haven't seen this officially, whereas the previous set was ceremoniously unveiled almost six months prior to GHWT's launch -- not that we wouldn't put it past Activision to keep it under lock and key for now, but why not let its newfound beauty shine?

Mike and Maaike : How do peoples drive in the future?

Mike and Maike, the design firm responsible for the Android-powered T-Mobile G1 Phone (and its notorious chin), have come up with what they consider to be the car of the future. In this ideal car, you don't drive, and you don't speed. Instead, you sit back and relax in what amounts to a mobile living room.

The electric car, dubbed "ATNMBL" (Autonomobile) aims to change the way we ride in cars. The big windows and low speeds are meant to encourage you to enjoy the view at a leisurely pace, rather than revel in pure speed. It seats 7, has a large display piping in information from the Web via open-source software, and has an electric, sliding-glass door. Oh, and it has a bar!

Pointless, you say? Well imagine a night out on the town, where you've eaten yourself into a food coma. It's 11 PM, and driving back home or sitting in a smelly taxi is the last thing you want to do. You really just want to sit down somewhere and watch some TV while you're whisked away to your awaiting bed. The ATNMBL could essentially serve as your own, personal sleeping taxi.

As for tech specs, the car would use a combination of GPS, Lidar, radar and stereo cameras for the self-driving functionality, drawing upon a database of maps for navigation. The ATNMBL would be all-wheel-drive, with 4 electric motors powering each wheel separately. And to top it off, a solar panel would come equipped on the roof, for some auxiliary power.

Also neat is that the ANTMBL would have voice controls would also be featured in the car, able to discern where you would like to travel. The car would also ask how much time you have to get to your destination, and whether you'd like to take the fastest route, or a more scenic one. And when you exited the vehicle, it would park itself. Pretty dreamy even as far as concepts go, but it's a well-thought-out system that drastically re-imagines how we transport ourselves, with less pollution, greater time savings, and safer road conditions the end result.

McDonald’s and NovaCharge launch EV Charging Stations

On July 14, electric vehicle owners will be able to charge up on a Big Mac while their electric vehicle charges in the parking lot.

A new McDonald's in Cary, North Carolina, will be the first of its kind, testing a pilot program with NovaCharge and Coulomb Technologies. The program may pave the way for electric charging stations in close proximity to where people drive and spend their leisure time. The entire McDonald's will be "eco-friendly" and built from environmentally friendly materials.

The concept is designed to demonstrate the benefits of parking lot charging not only for electric car drivers, but also for businesses: the hookup adds an incentive for people to linger at McDonald's longer and spend more.

Currently, the one missing link in the electric car market is the high cost of transporting electricity, but a larger infrastructure--similar to the existing model for gas stations--would make transportation cheaper and EV use more common.

The system uses a secure terminal called ChargePort, where customers can sign up for a paid subscription plan. The back-end network allows NovaCharge and Coulomb to monitor usage. A Web portal allows customers to view a map with all nearby ChargePort stations.

Well, it's not a price cut, but it looks like Sony could be about to offer one of its best deals to date to potential PS3 customers, with a little help from Best Buy. Apparently, in an effort to clear out the 80GB PS3s once and for all (to make way for... something), Best Buy will soon selling a bundle that includes said console, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Killzone 2 -- all for the usual price of $399.99. Better still, that bundle is supposedly set to go on sale as soon as next Sunday and, as you can see above, at least some of 'em have apparently already made their way into the stores' back rooms.

The new Tesco Land Rover S1 Sonin 'indestructible' phone

How tough do you want your mobile phone to be? Tesco is now selling the Land Rover S1 Sonin, which it describes as 'indestructible'.

Will the MoD sneak in and nick all the ruggedised handsets to protect squaddies in Afghanistan? Probably not.

Lance Batchelor, Chief Executive Officer of Tesco Mobile, goes on to admit that the S1 is only "virtually indestructible", and then adds "It's the first phone in the world to be as tough as a Land Rover."

As reliable as the least reliable car

According to Which? magazine's reliability surveys, Land Rovers are regularly rated as the most error-prone new vehicles.

However, the S1 Sonin is the only IP67 military-rated GSM mobile phone, making it resistant to humidity, dust, shock, salt and heat. It's also water resistant up to 1 metre for 30 minutes and can survive falls from 2 metres onto concrete.

Other features include a 2MP camera, insanely loud (110dB) speakers, A-GPS, 1500 hour stand-by time and an FM radio.

You'll be pleased to hear Tesco is offering an 'unconditional three-year' warranty on the handset, which is available now unlocked for £250, or from £25 a month on contract.

Cool supercheap Printable batteries

Get ready for a future where just about everything is electric.

Researchers at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems have developed batteries that are cheap, super-slim and flexible.

The new zinc-manganese batteries weigh less one gram, are less than one millimetre thick, meaning they can fit into something as small as a credit card.

Cards that talk to you

Powered bank cards could incorporate super-strong encryption or even miniature displays to show your balance at the touch of a button.

The batteries are printed using a silk-screen printing method similar to that used for t-shirts, laying down layers of anodes and cathodes that are about as thin as a human hair.

The process is cheap enough that batteries should cost around 5 pence to make and the researchers have already produced the batteries on a laboratory scale.

However, because the electrodes gradually dissipate while generating power, the printable batteries currently have a limited lifetime. The scientists hope to have commercially viable batteries ready by the end of the year.

How to maintain and Diagnose Your Car's Transmission

Transmission problems are among the most time consuming repairs that can be done on your car. This is because in most vehicles, the transmission is embedded deep into the engine bay, and the engine itself, some of the under-carriage and steering, and other parts would have to be overhauled before gaining access to the clutch. This is why it's important to learn how to diagnose transmission problems at the onset.

Parts. Before you can diagnose transmission problems, it would be good to have an idea what exactly goes on under the hood (or under the car). Whether you have an automatic clutch or a stick shift, your car would have these parts. The bell housing is a conical metallic housing that contains the gears and axles. The gears are what "connect" the engine with the wheels. Transmission fluid or gear oil runs through the entire contraption to lubricate, and the oil filter ensures there is no damaging debris.

Now here are a few symptoms that indicate transmission problems, and which parts may need repair or replacement. Basically, two things would indicate you are having problems with your transmission. First is that your car's engine will start and run smoothly, but your car will not move at all. Secondly, your car might be moving all right, but it will be sluggish, as if the power is not being properly transferred to the wheels.

Check for fluid levels. Check the gear oil's levels, and you need to replace the fluid if it's below the minimum level, and if it's no longer viscous enough or if the color has turned into brown or black.

Check for filter clogs. Some problems might be caused by simple clogs in the filter, which causes debris and build-up to run through the gears. You can have your transmission fluid filter replaced at low cost. In fact, a change in gear oil and filter should be the first thing to do, if you suspect transmission issues.

Check for leaks. You might also notice leaks on your driveway or garage. Gear oil is usually dyed red, and so if you spot reddish or brownish fluid on the spots you usually park, then it is likely you have a leaking transmission. A car's gearbox is usually sealed, and there are only a few spots where it can spring leaks. You can also check between the gearbox and the engine, at the drain hole under the gearbox, the selector shaft (which connects your stick shifter to the gearbox), and the fluid filler tube base. If you spot a leak, then you need to have the gearbox looked into by a competent mechanic soon.

Sticky shifters. If shifting becomes difficult (for manual transmission), or if the car is jerky whenever the automatic transmission shifts up or down, then you would have to have the transmission checked. It could be a problem with the transmission oil.

Grinding sounds. It's normal to have grinding sounds when you shift into reverse. But when you're running at normal speeds, and you get grinding sounds, or if your car vibrates too much when starting from a halt, then you might need to have your transmission rebuilt or repaired.

Transmission repairs and rebuilds are costly, and could take a lot of time. Therefore, if you notice any of these problems, try to address them as soon as you can to avoid more hassles.

Lubricating Your Motorcycle Chain

A motorcycle chain is a very important part of your motorcycle. Keeping it clean and lubricated well ensures a smooth and trouble free ride. Lubricating also lengthens the life of your bike’s chain.

There are two types of motorcycle chain – an O-ring type and the simple roller chain with no rubber rings. Nowadays, most bikes come with O-ring type chains. O-ring chains have links behind each ring with lubricant trapped inside. Even with the lubricant already in each link, O-ring chains still need to have external lubricants to cut down on friction and keep the temperature down.

There are also many different types of motorcycle chain lubricants on the market. Motorcycle riders may have their own favorites. You will have to discover your own too, most probably by trial and error. Basically, there are just two formulations of lubricants that you will see: thick and sticky or thin and watery. The thick and sticky type sticks on the chain easier so the application part is worry-free. The problem is that it leaves white grease in between the O-ring links, which makes it harder for you to clean up the next time you need to lube your chain.

Lubrication is done best when the chain is still warm, so try lubricating the chain after a ride. Lift the wheel of the motorcycle off the ground by using the rear stand. Line some newspapers on the ground to catch lube drips and sprays.

Put the motorcycle in neutral and get ready to clean the chain with a cleaner specifically suggested for an O-ring type of chain. Spin the wheel slowly while spraying the chain cleaner. You should spray between the plates of the chain, too. Some people use WD-40 in place of chain cleaners, but keep in mind that it may decrease the life of the chain.

Using a metal brush, rag, old toothbrush, or paper towel, gently remove excess grime from the chain. This will create a clean surface ideal for lubricants. Be sure to reach all the sprocket teeth and chain links. After cleaning the chain, you will need to reheat it by making a short five-minute ride.

When the chain is already warm and ready, lift the rear wheels again like what you did in cleaning. Roll the wheel slowly while spraying the lubricant on the chain. Cover the entire chain, making sure to put enough lubricant between the plates. It is recommended that you spray the lubricant between the set of plates closest to you for one revolution. After that, spray some lubricant between the set of plates farthest from you for one revolution. You will not need to put lubricant on the middle part anymore as it will just spread naturally when the chain comes in contact with the sprocket.

Wipe off excess lubricant with a rag or a paper towel. Just let the lubricant set for 15 to 30 minute before driving your bike. You are guaranteed a smoother ride now that your motorcycle chain is lubricated.

How to jump start your car ?

1. Get a set of jumper cables at your nearest auto parts store.
2. Drive a working car either next to or facing the car needing the jump.
3. Open both cars' hoods. Make sure both engines are turned off. Make sure that the jumper cables reach both cars' batteries.
4. Attach one end of the (usually red) jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the UNWORKING car's battery.
5. Attach other end of that same (usually red) jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the WORKING car's battery.
6. Attach one end of the (usually black) jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the WORKING car's battery.
7. Attach other end of that same (usually black) jumper cable to a metal surface (ground) on the UNWORKING car.
8. Start the engine of the WORKING car.
9. Try starting the engine of the UNWORKING car.
10. Disconnect jumper cables in reverse order that they were put on.
11. Once the UNWORKING car's engine starts, let it run for 15-20 minutes so that the battery can recharge.

How to make your internet connection faster?

With the popularity of broadband Internet connections, most Internet users no longer worry about having to wait for websites to load. This was a big problem with slow connections like dial-up, but now, speed might no longer be an issue with most users. However, there might still be some who use slow connections, and even DSL or cable connections have different speed ratings, so some may still be considered on the slow end. Also, even with a fast connection, a user might be in the habit of downloading movies, music and other multimedia, and could use all the speed he can get.

If you are experiencing speed problems with your Internet connection, or if you have to make do with a relatively slow connection such as wireless, here's a short guide on how to speed things up.

Use a proxy server. Sometimes, even if your connection to your ISP is fast, the actual throughput, or effective rate of data transfer, is slower. This could be due to different factors, such as how heavy a website's design

is, the capacity of the website's hosting server, and how fast your ISP's uplink to the rest of the world is. If the problem is with the uplink, you can improve the speed by using a proxy server, as defined by your ISP.

This speeds up transfers because your ISP will save copies of HTML files and multimedia on its own server, so you don't have to access it directly from the source server all the time. This is effective for websites that are commonly accessed by many people on your own ISP, because once a file has been accessed for the first time, the ISP will serve the local copy of the same file, so the access speed is faster.

Turn off multimedia. If your computer is slow, or if it takes a long time before a website finishes loading, the site might contain a lot of heavy graphic files, animations and other multimedia. This is fine if you have a fast connection, and really want to watch the multimedia on the site. However, if you mainly browse to read text content, and if your connection is crawling, you can turn off loading of images, animations and movies. On Internet Explorer, this can be accessed through the Control Panel, under the Advanced tab in Internet Settings. Just uncheck the boxes for playing animations, sounds, and videos. If you really need to drastically improve speed, you can also uncheck the box for displaying images.

Move your cache to RAM Disk. This is a more advanced tweak, because you would need to know how to install a RAM drive. The cache is basically the temporary folder where your browser stores files when you access a page. In most cases, the cache goes to the physical hard drive. But accessing a RAM drive is faster than accessing a physical drive. Your computer needs to have at least one Gigabyte of RAM, though, and your RAM drive for cache would ideally be at least 128 megabytes in size. However, every time you restart your computer, the cache is cleared, because the RAM drive is reset. And therefore, the speed increase is noticeable only during a continuous browsing session.

Turn off background applications that access the Internet for updates. Applications that run in the background might sometimes be downloading updates and files over the Internet. Some examples are Windows automatic update, Adobe updater, and auto update features of some anti-virus software. These eat up bandwidth while they download update files from the server, and can slow down browsing speed. Set your updating settings to manual, or schedule these during times you are away from your computer, so the slowdown will not be noticeable.

Surf during off-peak hours. Lastly, slowdowns in accessing web-pages might be caused by network congestion, such as when a number of other users are accessing the Internet. This is especially true with some cable connections, where the bandwidth is shared by users in the same building or neighborhood. Try browsing during off-peak hours, such as after office hours, or early in the morning. With less people accessing, you have more bandwidth allocation to yourself.

Speeding up an Internet connection does not always necessitate upgrading your ISP subscription. Sometimes, you just need to do a little tweak or adjustment, to improve the actual rate of data transfer.
